Shipping policy
Yes, we ship now. If you found an older page on our site saying we could not, that page is out of date. We ship to all 48 continental states.
There are three ways to get meat from our counter to your kitchen. Pick the one that suits you.
Pickup at the counter
Always free. Order online and we will have it cut, wrapped and bagged. Most orders are ready in about two hours during business hours; anything ordered after 4 PM is ready the next morning.
We hold pickup orders in the walk-in for 48 hours. After that we will text you a reminder, and after 72 hours we restock the order and refund you.
700 Atlantic Street, Roseville, CA 95678. Monday to Saturday 8 AM to 6 PM, Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM.
Local delivery — same day
Free on orders over $80. Below that it is $12 same-day, or $9 if next-day suits you better.
We deliver to seventeen ZIP codes across Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Loomis, Auburn, Folsom, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Carmichael and north Sacramento. Order by 11 AM for delivery the same day. Everything travels in an insulated tote with frozen gel packs, in a cooler, driven by someone who works here.
Not sure if you are in range? Enter your ZIP anywhere on the site and we will tell you.
Nationwide shipping — cold chain
Free on orders over $149. Below that, $48 UPS Ground (2-day) or $95 FedEx Express (overnight).
Ship days: Monday to Thursday in the West, Monday to Wednesday everywhere else
Boxes going to California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Idaho and Utah travel by ground and arrive in one to two days, so we ship them Monday through Thursday — a Thursday box reaches Seattle, Phoenix or Boise by Saturday at the latest, and nothing is left sitting over a Sunday.
Everything further away travels two-day cold chain, and a package handed to a carrier on a Thursday or Friday would sit in a warehouse over the weekend — no amount of gel pack survives that. So those boxes ship Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only.
Orders placed before 9 AM Pacific on a shipping day go out that day. Everything else goes out on the next shipping day for your zone. You will see the exact ship date and arrival date on every product page before you order — no surprises at checkout.
How it is packed
Vacuum-sealed the morning it ships, into an insulated liner inside a corrugated carton, with frozen gel packs sized to the transit time. Frozen items travel on dry ice. Everything is labelled to FSIS standards with a Keep Refrigerated — Open Immediately sticker on the outside.
When it arrives
Open the box the day it lands. Meat should be cold to the touch and firm. Some gel packs will have thawed — that is normal and expected; they are doing their job. If anything arrives warm, soft, or damaged, photograph it and call us at 916.782.2705 the same day and we will replace the order or refund you. No argument, no forms.
Where we cannot ship
- Alaska and Hawaii — we can, but air freight is priced per order. Call or use the contact form and we will quote you the same day.
- PO boxes — carriers will not deliver perishables to them.
- Outside the United States — not offered.
- Whole and half animals, roaster hogs — pickup only. Too large and too awkward to ship safely.
Weights and what you pay
Everything here is cut by hand, so no two pieces weigh exactly the same. We cut as close to the listed weight as we can. If a piece comes in meaningfully over or under, we adjust your order before we charge you. You are never billed for meat you did not get.
Questions
Call 916.782.2705 and ask for whoever is on the block. It is usually faster than email, and you will get an answer from the person who cut it.
