Loomis is eight miles up Taylor Road from our counter and a different kind of place from the subdivisions on either side of it — acreage, horses, orchards, long driveways. A lot of Loomis still cooks like it: whole briskets on a smoker, big roasts, sausages by the pound, and a freezer that gets filled on purpose rather than by accident. That's an order we're built for.
We're Roseville Meat Company, a family butcher on Atlantic Street since 1946. Everything is cut to order from whole primals, weighed, vacuum sealed and sent out on a refrigerated van the same afternoon. You pay for what it actually weighs.
Delivery across Loomis, Newcastle and Penryn
The van covers 95650 Loomis — downtown along Taylor Road, the Basin, Horseshoe Bar and King Road out toward the lake — plus 95658 Newcastle and 95663 Penryn up the I-80 corridor. Order by 4 PM and it's there this evening. Delivery is $9.99, free over $89.
Long driveways and gates are the norm here; put the gate code and anything the driver needs to know ("second house past the barn", "leave it in the cooler on the porch") in the delivery notes. If you're not home, that's fine — the bag is insulated and iced, and you'll get a photo when it's down.
What Loomis orders
Brisket. More packer-cut brisket goes to Loomis per household than anywhere else we deliver — Prime and Wagyu, 8 to 14 pounds, for the smokers that run every weekend from spring to the Eggplant Festival. Behind it are the short ribs (English cut and whole plate), beef back ribs, pork spareribs and baby backs, and the house sausages by the pound — the bratwurst, the hot links, and the smoked wild boar for people who want something different.
Loomis also buys grass-fed beef more than any other town on the route, and it's the part of the area most likely to order a quarter of the exotic case: elk, venison, buffalo. We carry all of it, cut and frozen at peak.
Filling a freezer? Everything on the site is vacuum sealed, which is the right way to freeze meat — no freezer burn, a year in a chest freezer without losing anything. Order the bigger weight bands, split it when it arrives, and the family packs are priced for exactly that.
Steaks and the holidays
For the steak nights, the thick-cut Black Label and Gold Label ribeyes and New Yorks at two inches hold up to a hot fire, and the bone-in cowboy steak is the one for the big grill. From November on, the Loomis van carries whole bone-in prime rib, cradled and tied to the number of ribs you give us, and whole turkeys. The holiday reserve holds yours with a deposit.
